To keep you posted about all the news from the world of Irish fish and food, we are launching our new blog section! Read on for some fishy news! 

Hi folks! Ciara Shine here with some exciting news about Shines! 

We are thrilled to announce a nice development for the Irish food industry – or at least for those of us who love local food and local food producers like ourselves. Mum (Marianne), Dad (John) and I think it’s just so important that we continue to promote all that is good about locally sourced food produced by local companies and family businesses.  

So we are now launching our own news section right here on Shines Online. This is to give something back to all our wonderful customers as well as bringing you news about what we are doing here at Shines. 

We very much want this to be about Ireland and about what a great place it is for food! We are a small company with a big vision: to get everyone eating lots of Irish fish! But not just that: we also think all Irish food producers to be celebrated and promoted. 

So our new blog will have lots of news and articles about Shines, about Killybegs, about Donegal and about Irish seafood! 

We will give you lots of information about the health benefits of eating fish and we will provide with you lots of Irish recipes and serving suggestions for our Irish tuna, our Irish sardines and our Irish mackerel.  

We will tell you what we do and why we do it. We will explain why Irish fish is the best and how the Irish fishing industry needs to be supported by all of us – from consumers and stores right up to government level. 

We will share news about our Brand Ambassadors and what they are doing: recipes, competitions, food tips and more. We will tell you about our new products from our Irish fish pates to our range of merchandise and giftware.  

We will let you know when our Shines Seafoods Visitor Centre & Tasting Dock is open and when we launch our Christmas Hamper Store so you can ship our Irish food hampers to family, friends and clients across Ireland and further afield. 

And perhaps most importantly, we want to hear from you! What do you want to know about? Want to hear how our fish are produced and why Irish seafood is the best in the world? How to make delicious healthy meals for you and your family? What sustainable measures are being taken by our amazing fishing industry?  

There is so much we want to share and so much we want to discuss so we can’t wait to get started! Watch this space and keep an eye on our social media accounts on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and X for updates.
