In our third blog, we are delighted to announce the launch of new Shines products.
Here at Shines Seafood in Killybegs, we are all about innovation and responding to market demand. We are constantly researching and refining our Irish products to make sure we are bringing Irish consumers what they want.
From our original tuna, we then went on to launch different types of tuna in different sauces – from olive oil and brine to sunflower oil and tomato sauce. We also have produced sardine and mackerel products – including our very popular Hot Smoked Mackerel Fillets with Black Peppercorns in Sunflower Oil and our Lightly Smoked Irish Sardines in Sunflower Oil.
And we are very proud to bring you some more new products! These are:
Shines Line & Pole Caught Skipjack Tuna in organic extra virgin olive oil
and
Shines Line & Pole Caught Skipjack Tuna in spring water
These products come in loins in 150g jars and are full of flavour and sustainably caught. These premium products are pole-and-line caught in the Azores.
At Shines, we always strive be as sustainable as possible – which is crucial for the fishing industry. So to be able to now offer tuna that is caught by line-and-pole is really important for us.
The skipjack tuna is generally found in tropical waters and is known to be a resilient species of tuna. It is hugely popular around the world and especially in Hawaii where it is traditionally used in poke bowls.
